Mark D. Unruh D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Unruh was born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma. He graduated as salutatorian from Drummond High School. His undergraduate work was done at the University of Oklahoma. After two and a half years in Norman, he was accepted to the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry located at the OU Health Science Center in Oklahoma City. He graduated dental school with distinction in 1995 and was accepted into the University of Oklahoma orthodontic program. After 27 months of orthodontic specialty training and research, he graduated from orthodontic school earning a Master of Science degree with a master’s thesis entitled, “Ankylosis of Primary Molars and Their Association with Agenesis of Premolars.” He has successfully completed Phase I and Phase II written examination of the American Board of Orthodontics. In September 1997 he moved to Bartlesville, purchased Dr. Joe Welch’s orthodontic practice in Bartlesville and purchased a satellite office in Independence, Kansas.
Dr. Unruh was married to his beautiful wife, Jennifer, in 1992 and now has two children, Brace and Braylee. He enjoys spending as much of his free time as possible with his family, especially at the lake and attending all of his children’s activities. His other primary interests are hunting and fishing. He has coached his son’s basketball team and summer baseball teams from tee-ball to high school Babe Ruth. He is currently a deacon at his Christian Church and is a past board president of his church. He is also a past president of the Oklahoma Orthodontic Society.
